CARE & WARRANTY INFORMATION

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING YOUR REFINISHED SURFACE

Thank you for choosing Perma-Glaze of Texas’ Professional Refinishing services as an affordable alternative to replacing your bathtub, sink, vanity top, tile, kitchen counters or backsplash, among other things!

You will find specific warranty info on the following page, but it is also important to understand a few points regarding overall refinishing.  While fixtures are originally manufactured in highly controlled, dust free environments, homes unfortunately do not offer such pristine conditions, which is why we ask that the room be cleaned prior to our arrival. Consequently, while every effort is made to produce optimal conditions for refinishing, minor imperfections such as dust particles may show up in the finished product.

Generally, these will smooth out on their own through normal use and cleaning within about 30 days. We are not responsible for dust, debris or insects that may adhere to the surface during the drying and curing process. Additionally, there may be imperfections in your existing surface such as silicone contamination, small chips, scratches or dents that become more evident once a new, glossy finish is applied. Unfortunately, we have no control over this nor are these warrantable scenarios.

Liquid stone finishes and custom tinted solid glaze colors may vary slightly from color samples, just as paint, wallpaper, or tiles may vary due to manufacturer’s batch processing. Additionally, the amount of color, texture, and color patterns may vary slightly due to differences in manufacturing and/or spraying conditions. Since we cannot control these types of variables, they are not considered defects and are not

eligible for refund.

We mask/cover the surrounding area as carefully as possible using high quality painter’s tape and paper; even so, we are not responsible for touch-ups or repair to paint or wallpaper that may be removed by the masking tape. You may also notice what you think to be overspray on furniture, etc., however, overspray would be only on those areas directly adjacent to the items we are resurfacing and have been covered, what you are seeing is dry dust which can be easily wiped clean with a clean rag and furniture polish, window cleaner or a mixture of Dawn dish soap and water.

The scenarios above are not typical but we must mention them and let you know that we make every effort to avoid them; however and again, due to various conditions mentioned they may not be avoidable. In any case, your newly refinished surface will boast a beautifully updated new glossy solid color, stone or cement look that will deliver many years of use and satisfaction.

Warranty Coverage, Care and Cleaning of your new surface go hand-in-hand.  Your 5 Year Workmanship Warranty includes our guarantee that our products, on fully refinished fixtures, will not peel or yellow when the following care and cleaning instructions are followed. Workmanship means if there are any issues that arise due to the application of our products by us (drips or runs in the finish, for example), we will return to repair at no additional cost to our customer.  Note that 1) Workmanship related issues are rare and will typically show up within 10 days after resurfacing. 2) Most other issues stem from damage, and whether caused unintentionally, as a result of negligence or abuse, or by failure to follow the care & cleaning instructions below (such as but not limited to chips, gouges, or scratches), WILL incur repair costs. 3) Soap dishes, towel bars, toothbrush and toilet paper holders, faucets and handles, spa tub jet covers/parts, kitchen or utility sinks, toilets, rust, and repairs without full fixture resurfacing are not warranted; nor are grout lines since foundational shifting can occur, or caulk which may need to be replaced periodically when/if mildew appears due to damp/humid conditions.
• MINIMUM DRY TIME:  24 hours, unless specifically told otherwise. DO NOT touch, let the surface get wet or use the item during the minimum dry time period.  If necessary you may caulk and reinstall any hardware that was removed AFTER the dry time.
• CLEANING SUPPLIES:  Only a soft sponge or washcloth with a Non-abrasive, Non-bleach liquid, cream or gel cleaner may be used.  Dawn dish liquid, Barkeeper's Friend spray or cream (not the powder), Lysol/Mr. Clean and Simple Green sprays are safe to use. Never use anything with oils or citrus (essential oils, citrus cleaners like lemon, orange, grapefruit, etc.) powders, abrasives or bleach on your new surfaces.
• DO NOT PICK at surface dust, etc. - small things that land in the wet surface will likely dissipate within 30 days of normal use and cleaning. Picking will cause an unsightly blemish that is not warranted.
• AVOID SUCTION CUPS/ADHESIVES – Never use any type of containers or mats with suctions cups on your new surface as they will collect and hold moisture underneath and pull at the finish when removed. We offer a non-slip traction treatment that can be added to tub bottoms or shower floors. Adhesives just don’t work and can fall and damage the finish. There are also non-suction bath mats specially made for refinished surfaces. We also suggest rubber mats and “sink saddles” for kitchen/utility sinks. Mats should be in place when needed and removed to dry after use.
• DO NOT leave wet cloths, mats, sponges, bottles, soaps or any other wet items sitting on your new surface at any time ‐ purchase a soap dish for your vanity top and a shower rack or tension pole corner caddy for tubs.
• NEVER use or rinse hair dye, clean paint brushes or use paint related chemicals or materials on your new surface.  Keep harsh chemicals away from the surface.
• DO NOT use, clean, put or store any items in or on your new surface that might damage, cut or burn it.
• DO NOT bathe animals in a refinished sink or tub.
• DO NOT let leaky faucets go unrepaired. Over time, a constant leak will damage the finish.
• NEVER let workers place tools, ladders in or on, or stand on a resurfaced fixture with their shoes on. Have them remove shoes and put a soft towel or sheet down to stand on.
• DO contact us immediately to repair any damage - chips, gouges, etc. as they may result in larger repairs and repair fees down the road.
• DO make sure there are no sizeable holes or gaps in any grout or caulking at any time in a shower stall or tub surround. This can lead to water seepage resulting in wall damage and a costly repair bill.
• DO contact our office should you have any questions regarding any of the above or to schedule a repair.
